How can I find out if Vista has the needed video card and sound cards? as well as processers? - vista cards
I've heard that Vista can run Oblivion, but I can not tell if my computer has the appropriate equipment for this?

The operating system will not make the game playable. Oblivion running on XP and Vista. Your hardware that makes a difference (CPU, RAM, graphics card.) Review the system requirements for Oblivion and see what your hardware. Also use this program to see if my computer can handle games before purchasing them.

Whatever your system is not what you have Vista - Vista is the operating system.
Go to games and see what requirements, and then click on "My Computer" see to tell who has what is needed.
XP can oblivion smoothly, without having to switch to Vista.
Vista is dead. Buy a Mac.
